MDTC NAMES RICK DONNELLY TEACHER OF THE YEAR

Mid-Del Technology Center has named Rick Donnelly as the 2009-2010 teacher of the year.  Mr. Donnelly is an Auto Service Technology instructor at the Center. 

Rick has attended Rose State College, Oklahoma City Community College and the University of Central Oklahoma.  He has been ..........

named to the President’s Honor Roll at Rose State and the Multi-cultural Honor Roll at UCO.

Donnelly has earned the title of Master Automobile Technician and received the prestigious Mid-Del Schools Effective School Leader Award in 2006.

"I believe that all students are capable of learning," said Donnelly.  "It is my responsibility to present what I teach in a clear, concise manner to which all students can benefit.  I must instill in my students a sense of pride, honor, and integrity.  This will insure that what they learn will be a benefit to them now and in the future."

Mr. Donnelly believes that he must be a role model for his students.  Rick adds, "I must live what I teach.  My motto must be, 'do what I say and what I do.'  By doing this I can be the most effective teacher that I can be.  I am not just teaching a trade, I am teaching a lifestyle, a lifestyle of good citizenship, morals, ethics, as well as an ability to make a prosperous living."
